  • Specially Designed Sentencing:

    • Judge Ansbro frequently orders youthful traffic offenders to read on a daily basis the local newspaper with a parent or other adult and discuss the reports of traffic related accidents and deaths for a specified length of time.  Following the expiration of one such sentence, the defendant’s parent wrote the following letter dated May 6, 2008:
      • "... Thank you for your kindness.  [The minor defendant] was told to read the newspaper for 60 days. To discuss with me, articles concerning traffic incidences. She has successfully completed this task. This last 60 days have been more pleasurable than I ever expected. We not only discussed the traffic articles but other articles that opened dialog on subjects and topics that we would not have thought to talk about. Thank you again, I enjoyed this time with my daughter.”
